Fave a Blotanist and New Non-Blogging Members
What's with this new feature "Faving a Blotanist"? Well, for some time you've had the ability to Fave your favourite Blogs. Now we are giving you the opportunity to fave the person responsible for the blog but more importantly, a way to fave non-blogging members of Blotanical.
That's right...Blotanical is now officially open to non-blogging gardeners as well!
So in order for them to get any recognition, as they may have been your best reader for the past 2 or 3 years, you are now able to show them some love as well. Just by faving them. In fact, we even have 3 members already who you can go and say 'Hello' to and welcome aboard - try visiting chromey, JM and SM.
While it may be difficult to find them at the moment, unless they comment on your Plot, I will be adding a page soon that lists the most recent member additions.
So, once you've found them, how do you fave them?
How to Fave a Blotanist
If you've already got a handle on How to Fave Blogs then this process shouldn't be too hard. However, while locating blogs to be faved gave you three options, faving a Blotanist only has one - nice and simple.
The only way a Blotanist can be faved is through their Plot. When you visit their Plot you will notice two buttons above the About Me section.

The "Return to My Plot" does exactly what it states and returns you to your Plot. The "Fave this Member" button adds the member to your Faved Blotanist list and sends them an email telling them that you like them and have added them as a favourite.
The next time you return to their Plot you will see that the "Fave this Member" button has changed colour and won't allow you to fave them again. It also helps you remember which members you have already added as faved blotanists and who can still be added.

When you're back in your Plot you can easily arrange them with the Move buttons or even Remove them altogether if you accidentally added them.
Can you Rank Faved Blotanists?
No. We are still planning to have a list that highlights the most faved blotanists but you can't give them rankings. It's one thing to rank someone's blog - it's another thing entirely to rank a person.
Will members receive emails if I Remove them?
No. A member will only be emailed when they are faved. Therefore, if you move them or remove them they won't be informed of this action.

Aha! Now it all makes sense. I loved the idea of faving a blotanists but then I kinda felt like I was duplicating my fave blog list. Now I understand. Thanks Stuart for explaining it for me~

Behind as usuall....I have been adding other favourite bloggers that I couldn't add because I have to reach the next level...but also people whose blogs I just simply can't miss out on reading. Great that non-bloggers can now join in the fun, too! Brilliant, Stuart, as always.

I'm glad non-bloggers can join now.
Until this post I didn't understand why we would fave the person AND the blog- it seemed redundant. Still does a little but I like Jodi's idea.
One thing I've noticed is when I peruse someone's favorite blotanist list there isn't a way to get back to that person's plot - only my own plot. It would be nice to be able to route back to the plot I am looking at rather than having to find it all over again after I have looked through their faves.
Just a thought. Maybe I'm missing something and you can assist.
Thanks, Stuart for all your hard work... big pats on the back...it is much appreciated.
