Our First 2 Guru's plus we break 500+ Garden Blogs
It's been a relatively monumental weekend thus far as Blotanical starts to pick itself up from its crawling position and takes a few wobbly baby steps.
Our first highlight is congratulating our brand new Guru Blotanists - Crafty Gardener from the Gardener Side of Crafty Gardener and Robin, author of Robin's Nesting Place. It's been a tussle between some great garden bloggers with jodi and CC jockeying for the earlier levels but eventually being pipped by these two power blotanists.
However, it's Crafty Gardener's honour to be our very first Guru Blotanist. Well done, CG.
And, if that wasn't enough excitement for one weekend we've also gone past the 500 Garden Blogs mark. An Iowa Garden became our 500th blog to be listed since the Garden Blog Directory started. At the rate that we've been adding them I'm predicting that we should be listing our 1000th blog by the start of September (just in time for the 2008 Blotanicals. Which is great news for those who love reading garden blogs.
Finally, just to quote some stats if you've been wondering whether it's worth being listed on Blotanical we saw more than 30,000 visitors traverse the site in February eating up more than 230,000 pages. That's a lot to digest and its getting bigger.
A big thank you to all those who give up their time to offer feedback, suggestions or to point out errors on the site. Your comments will always help Blotanical to become a better place to belong. Kudos to YOU.

Thanks Stuart, I'm honoured to be the first to reach the guru level. I did a post about it on my blog and said there were 400+ blogs, but wow, 500 is very impressive. I know I will continue to enjoy Blotanical and when ever I can I'm encouraging new bloggers to join.

Congrats, Stuart. It's been a boost to be listed on Blotanical since it's taken off. I've seen a significant increase in traffic at Digging in the last month or so.

Congrats on making blotanical such a success Stuart. It's deserved. I'm really enjoying participating and it's been great for my stats. I'm now looking forward to the frums and all the future development. A big thank you for all the work, and I hope you're getting lots out of it too.

This is so great, Stuart. I've been trying to figure out a way of writing about Blotanical in my 'real' writing (you know, the stuff we get paid to do) and am still working on that. In the meantime, it's terrific to see so many gardening blogs and 'meet' so many great gardeners. So once again, my thanks and congratulations to you for all this hard work.

Congrats Gurus and Stuart. I'm so glad that blotanical is really taking off. It's a wonderful site and a great community. Blotanical has significantly increased my blog views. And most importantly I have meet wonderful gardeners near and far!
