Ice-Cream Flavoured Picks
Oh...you people are just spoilt with choices! As if it wasn't hard enough trying to pick the best posts from 1 list, now you could have up to 4 to work with. But look on the bright-side - you shouldn't run out of things to read.
One of the things I enjoy the most about creating Blotanical, this ever-evolving garden in cyberspace, is the ability to offer members more and more options. It's kind of like icecream. If we all enjoyed vanilla, and only ever ate vanilla, Baskin & Robbins would have to come up with a new slogan. Fortunately, while most of us will happily eat vanilla the taste buds really get cranking when they're introduced to pistachio, or boysenberry or...heaven forbid!...tangello sorbet.
So, I'm hoping that your Pick-ing juices will moisten your appetite for more - and hopefully in a flavour that you enjoy. Let me introduce you to the range;
The Current List - (Vanilla)
Perhaps this flavour will stay on the shelves, at least for the time being. It still picks up every feed that owners are willing to share and sorts them into some semblance of order - yet not always the way we like it. As more and more blogs join the community, the feeds will become so top heavy that eventually this flavour will have to be removed, or at least repackaged.
Maybe we'll start seeing Classic Vanilla, or even French Vanilla (you could add your country's name in front) if you really wanted. Who knows! The icecream vendor is always open to new ideas.

Ah, yes! These are the new kids on the block. Full of vim and vigour and eager to be discovered. This list picks up feeds from the 200 newest blogs on Blotanical according to the date they were added. You can Pick them just like any other post or start to discover the upcoming stars in the Blotanical family.
Note to New Bloggers: At the rate blogs are being added you won't have long to stay in this set so make the most of the opportunity and grab it with both hands.

Apparently, Spearmint-Choc is the most requested icecream flavour the world over. Why? I'm not sure. It's certainly not mine. I'm an adventurous type that loves to try anything new and daring.
However, these blogs are supposedly the ones with the runs on the board. They've been faved by you since the beginning of Blotanical and now provide the Top 200 in an easy to read list. This may or may not be your preferred ice-cream flavour but it certainly is interesting to see what everyone else is eating.

Imagine you're in a kitchen and the mother-of-all ice-cream makers awaits. Every available ingredient is at your fingertips eager to be a component in your masterpiece. Some summer fruits? A hint of spice? Some tangy citrus? It's all up to you. This is YOUR mixing bowl.
If you don't have any Faved blogs yet then go out and grab some. If you need more points to get more Faves, go and do that too. Then come back, wait for the mixer to finish and scoop a gigantuan dollop into your wafer cone and enjoy the rest of the day. Come back tomorrow and while it may look the same you'll get a whole new set of taste sensations.

When I saw all the new 'flavors' I could link to today I questioned whether this was a feature I had missed. Now I read your explanation and I realize it is new.
You are working really hard, Stuart, and the improvements are very nice. I would have been perfectly happy with Vanilla but you have outdone yourself... and NOW I see why the faves are important too. How very handy and clever of you. Thanks for all the expansions in picks.

I just discovered the active lists for the various levels, great idea on the different ways to sort them. Stuart, you have been very, very busy. I for one, certainly appreciate all the work that goes into maintaining this site.

You have solved a major problem for me, many thanks, oh guru of gurus. I am not teckie enough to figure out the feeds thing, even though some have tried to educate me, I still didn't get it, or didn't like that way of keeping up with the new posts. Now anyone listed on Blotanical and chosen as my fave will be on my own shorter list, not so long like the current list. It makes looking for new stuff so easy. It also made me get my faves list to where it reflects the blogs I want to read everyday. But if I want to see non-faves, there is that list also. All that picking was so worth it, not for the recognition but for the 100 faves! Freedom to add more new ones without sacrificing older ones. You have anticipated the growth in the number of bloggers well with these features that didn't seem to have a purpose in the beginning to me. Thank you.
