Feed problems ... FIXED!

Finally we've found a fix for the %@*&%$& Feedburner feeds. And, guess who was the culprit? If you guessed ME then you're being a little harsh and you ought to stand in the corner and write 50 lines - "I shall not curse Stuart, anymore."

No. The award goes to Feedburner, directed and produced by Google Inc., and starring every sadistic programmer this side of the Silicon Valley. I really should get some sleep!

In their wisdom, and lack of being accountable to anyone who may utilise any of their services (ie. you and me), they decided to change their feed urls to a new feed protocol. Are you ready for it? Instead of their feeds listing as http://feeds.feedburner.com/[Blog Title Goes Here] they are now being served via http://feedproxy.feedburner.com/[Blog Title Goes Here]. Did you notice the change? All that for nearly 2 weeks of frustration!!!!

One might have hoped that Google, in its ultimate aim to increase online users experience, might have shared that little snippet perhaps a week or two earlier.

Sorry...end of rant...for those who have feedburner feeds I hope you enjoy being public again.

Oh, what a mess! I crown you, Stuart, Super Sleuth! You did it!!

You deserve sainthood for your persistence, Stuart. :-) Thanks for ALL you do.

How incredibly infuriating for you, Stuart. Hope you have a long and refreshing sleep tonight - you definitely deserve it!

All that work and it was a big blunder on their part to begin with? Very nice of them to tell the rest of us. Thanks for your diligence Stuart. I switched to wordpress a couple of days ago, but I think the move was worth it.

Hi Stuart, Hooray for the fix, and hooray for you. Not that we ever doubted you for a minute, we switched to wordpress just for the fun of it. ;->

I've been talking to the PRs for Google here in the UK (well, ranting might be more accurate) and they say they're migrating all Feedburner users over to the AdSense for Feeds system, so that maybe why they changed the URL. But they say both systems are up and running "so there shouldn't be any problems". I told them people were leaving Blogger in droves over here. I've disconnected my Feedburner feed, and guess what? People can see my posts!

Thank you so much Stuart for your unrelenting hard work. It is appreciated!
Now go get some rest!

You did an outstanding job. Get some sleep.

Thank you Stuart! I think most of us can relate to your frustration, although on a much smaller scale!

Sleep Well!

Lucy

Wow. I can't believe they didn't notify anyone of this! Glad you got things fixed. I actually noticed less traffic and thought it was me.

Yippee!!! Thank you so much Stuart for being tenacious and getting to the bottom of this. I'm so glad it's fixed!

OMG!!!! This must just have you going nuts. My daily traffic / hits dropped in half over this period, so it'll be nice to have readers again. MERCI BEAUCOUP!!!!!!

Hi Stuart,
never forone moment thought it was your fault ...
Hooray that it's sorted but ... you know how these things go - fix one and another goes beserk. Under Picks - My Posts nothing is now showing. Not really a problem but was curious to know if it was the same for everyone - ?

Stuart .. GREAT JOB MAN !!!
I can't believe how well you handled it all .. and hey .. you are allowed a little .. no ... a LOT of cursing to relieve that stress ! Say it .. you will feel better ! LOL
Thanks so much for your hard work : )

You switched my feed address from "feeds" to "feedproxy" on your site. Now, my feed doesn't work. The latest posted to my site early today does not show up on Blotanical, whereas the recent ones have been.

I switched my feed back to "feeds" which does work. "Feedproxy" gives a 404 error.

I still don't see my posts. Are we supposed to adjust the feed URL ourselves in Blogger under Settings and then Site Feed? I tried it, but still nothing showed up.

I am glad that you were able to figure it out! But My feeds aren't showing up yet, even when I ping it! Do I need to do something different?

Thanks,

I have the same question as Jean Marie, above. My feeds are not showing up either.
