And the Winners are...
Thus ends another Blotanical Awards and by all accounts it's been quite a success. It was great to see that there were more people voting this year and with the new award categories there were more winners as well. And with more competition for each category, and more voters, it was a tougher 'horse race' so those who won - or who even made it the finals - were there for a reason.
While there were minimal slip ups this year in terms of coding there was one major faux pas. I forgot to double-check the Major Blotanist Awards and inadvertently missed some irksome code which limited the number of finalists. This has now been rectified but alas relegates Gail to runner-up in the Best Commenter Award and Bangchik to runner-up in the Blotanist of the Year Award. Congrats are certainly in order for Frances for taking both of those awards out. To Gail and Bangchik - my humble apologies.
For those offering feedback, thank you very much. It all goes to making next year's better and with all the positive Tweets and Posts that have been circulating the online world Blotanical has been attracting a heap of new members - gardeners and bloggers alike.
As mentioned in the last newsflash a survey will be out soon requesting your opinions, feedback and suggestions for how Blotanical will keep developing. I'm hoping that you will all share your thoughts so this community-driven site can become a better community.

Will there be a icon/picture that we can use on our blogs to show our awards

Thanks Stuart - it must have been so much work for you and you don't get an award!
My congratulations to all the winners and finalists - it was incredibly hard to choose at both the nomination and final stage. It's good to see lots of new faces clutching their awards, both people who missed out last year and those that have joined since last September.
As usual I have some thoughts to share with you Stuart, so I'll be in touch when your survey comes out!
Helen - as an alternative to waiting for your sparkly badge, you could save the Blotanicals award image and post it in your sidebar in the meantime?

Stuart --A big thank you for all the work you do for the awards. Hearty congratulations to the winners. Next year, is it possible to give guidelines for a few of the catagories...for example-- What constitutes a New Blogger? The difference between homestead and agrarian? Can others nominate a blog? (as long as they are member of Blotanical)
