Profile Points Explained

Profile Points are the way in which Blotanical keeps score of the
most active members and rewards them for their participation.

As you might have already guessed, there are many ways to earn points. The list of actions and their values is shown below;

  • Logging in - 1 point
  • Leaving a Message - 2 points
  • Receiving a Message - 1 point
  • Picking a Post - 3 points
  • Having others visit your My Plot - 1 point

As Blotanical grows, other actions will also be recognised plus we will also offer bonus points for games and competitions.

Points are accumulated by members and rewarded by moving up through various levels. Each level allows more privileges and these will also be increased as Blotanical grows. The levels and their rewards are listed below;

  • Less than 500 points - 24 Favourites
  • Between 501 and 1500 points - 36 Favourites
  • Between 1501 and 5000 points - 48 Favourites
  • Between 5001 and 10000 points - 60 Favourites
  • Greater than 10000 points - 100 Favourites

The point of having more Favourites means you become more influential in your votes for the top blogs. For example, it's much better to be Ranked #1 on a list of 100 than Ranked #1 on a list of 24. For those who don't like to rank their Favourites it is still more beneficial for your Faves to be shown on a larger list than a smaller one.

Therefore, the more influential you become on Blotanical, the greater chance other members will seek you out. This is good for you as a Blotanist but should also filter to your own blogs as well.
